Gateway had an incredible impact on my life. I hope that many students will get the same opportunity to have the exceptional learning and growing experiences that I had. Teachers at Gateway always supported me in expressing who I was, let me explore my interests, treated me like a special student (which they do for all students), and rewarded me for hard work. It was the perfect environment for me, and Yale was the perfect way to continue my intellectual and personal growth. Giving back to both Gateway and Yale is a natural outcome of both schools conferring upon me the rights and responsibilities that come with my education.

Gateway changed my mind, epitomizing positive interdependence between district and charter, bravely innovating, and steadily boosting student performance in school and in life - a shining example of what a really good charter school can be.
